The beautiful scenery and buildings of Burgundy

Burgundy boasts some of the world’s finest wines with almost 60,000 acres of sun lit vines. Exploring beautiful winding roads through the vine yards makes for excellent riding.

We can arrange wine tasting for you, if you wish, at vine yards that produce some of the very best wines.

Close by is the region of Nievre. Remaining a much undiscovered region and well off the beaten track, on the edge of the Morvan Hills. Nievre has the smallest population of the four Burgandian departments (regions).

Never is the capital of the Nievre region and easily the largest city. It makes an ideal place to visit.

Local attractions

The Morvan National Park. In 1970 the French Government created this huge natural park in the centre of Burgundy. There are woods covering the area, harbouring wild game. Many natural lakes are also in abundance, and after a long ride, you could take a dip to cool off, before returning to the lodge for a well earned beer.

Close to Chatel is the medieval town of Vezelay, where the views from the Basilica are amazing. It was here that Richard the Lionheart lead the third crusade. Clamecy, and Avallon are also both just a short ride away, and are steeped in History and worthy of visits.
